How often should I change my Night Bag?
Great Bear offer two types of Night Bag; Single Use and Reusable. Single Use Night Bags should be changed daily whilst the reusable, drainable options can be used, on average, between 5-7 days.
How do I use a Night Bag?
Please refer to the instructions for use leaflet included with your reusable Night Bags. Instructions for Single Use Night Bags can be found on the back of the poly bag packaging.
What should I do if urine is not draining into my Night Bag?
Firstly, ensure that the Night Bag is secured to a Night Stand. Secondly, make sure the Night Bag is positioned at a level that is lower than the bed to ensure a downward flow.
A trapped Non Return Valve (NRV) can also prevent urine draining into the bag. The NRV is the clear flap of plastic that is located directly behind the Bear print on the bag. On very ‘rare’ occasions the NRV during sterilisation can become trapped. Manipulate the NRV by rubbing the front and back of the bag where the Bear is, this should release the NRV and allow proper drainage. If this does not work, please contact your Healthcare Professional.
How do I store my Night Bags and dispose of them after use?
Night Bags should be stored in a cool, dry place at an ambient temperature. It is important that the Night Bag does not get too cold as it could cause the plastic to harden and crack.
After use; drain the urine from the Night Bag, place in a disposable bag and put in with your household waste. Please refer to local guidelines regarding your household waste.
