Celebrating 70 Years Of The NHS
In 1948, Health Secretary Aneurin Bevan launched the National Health Service to provide free Healthcare for all. It was an ambitious aim, and no one could foresee the challenges, achievements and threats it would face over the coming decades. 70 years on the NHS has come a long way – we look back at some key milestones of its tenure.
We are all aware that the NHS is not without its downfalls and criticism but when you consider that a heart transplant could set you back $1.4 million in the USA, you really have to applaud what a wonderful service the NHS provides and the importance of its sustainability.
Happy 70th Birthday to the NHS – here’s to the next 70 years
