Jan Wrigglesworth – Nightingale Nurse Advisor for 13 Years After training at the General Infirmary in Leeds between 1974 and 1977, Jan Wrigglesworth went on to become a District Nurse in the Leeds area until 1990. During this time she became interested in continence and attended various local continence courses. In 1990 Jan joined the Thackray organisation and became a Thackray Nurse, completing the Appliance Practitioner Course and the ENB978 Promotion of Continence Course. It was in 1996 that Jan joined Nightingale and although there have been numerous changes, Jan still finds it allows her to take a completely unbiased approach towards products and patients. To keep herself up to date on new ideas and products, Jan regularly attends national continence based conferences. Margaret McGuigan – Nightingale Nurse Advisor for 5 Years Margaret McGuigan has been a qualified RGN since 1974, and since then has worked in many of the main hospitals in Newcastle and Gateshead including Newcastle General, Queen Elizabeth and Bensham and Dunston Hill. Before specialising in continence, Margaret’s past experiences include General Surgery, Elderly Rehabilitation, Medical/Stroke wards and Palliative care. As well as working as a Deputy Manager in a care home in Gateshead, Margaret also worked with young people with special needs before joining Nightingale in 2005, covering the North East of England. Sharon Jones – Nightingale Nurse Advisor for 5 Years Sharon Jones has been a qualified RGN for 28 years and has since then spent 15 years as a District Nurse in Porthcawl, before becoming a link nurse in continence specialising in Continence Care and Assessments. Sharon became a Nightingale Nurse Advisor 5 years ago and now covers the West Wales area, visiting patients in their own homes to provide advice on continence products. Di Groom – Nightingale Nurse Advisor for 8 Years Being a qualified General Nurse for over 25 years in South Wales, Di has always worked within urology and the continence field. After getting her Nursing Degree, her specialty became urology in Bridgend Hospital. Eight years ago, Di left the NHS to join Nightingale in Cardiff, to specialize in a community advisory role, as part of the Independent sector, she hasn’t looked back since! Di covers the South Wales and West area and always aims to give the highest level of Nursing care and to ensure her patients are advised of the most appropriate continence product for them. |
